This dog breed has a sweet character by nature

The Bernese Mountain Dog is a striking, tri-colored, sturdy, large dog, 

developed in the Bern Region of the Swiss Alps. They herded livestock and worked as cart dogs to transport goods and produce to market.

He is a friend for life. He is intelligent, strong and agile enough to do the draft 

and droving work for which he was used in the mountainous regions of his origin. Males appear masculine, while females are distinctly feminine.

Un neutered Males are suspicious of strangers and will alert you if strangers 

are near. Females are very friendly and are welcoming of strangers. 

slight personalities can also vary from one dog to the next.

Measured at the withers, Adult Males should be 25 to 27 1/2 inches 

and females 23 to 26 inches. 

Males generally weigh 90-120 pounds and females 75-105 pounds.
